Simone Biles Weds! Perfectly Executed! ~ Yard Sale Weddings

Simone Biles (26), married her longtime boyfriend, Jonathan Owens (27), on April 22nd, 2023 (and again on May 6th, see below). Their vows were exchanged at Harris County Courthouse in Houston, TX. The nuptials announced their union on Instagram, stating “I do 🤍 officially owens 🤍“. Biles is the most decorated gymnast in history winning 25 world championships. She is tied with Shannon Miller on winning the most olympic medals (seven). Jonathan Owens entered the NFL in 2018 and signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent. He is currently a defensive safety player, signed in September 2022, with the Houston Texans. They plan to have a destination wedding in a few weeks. I can’t wait to see those photos!

The bride wore a stunning, four-tiered wedding dress from Selfie Leslie. The gown retails for $120, a girl after my own heart wearing an affordable AF dress. The strappy sandal heels are from Pretty Little Thing for $58. Good thing she’s got those strong calves to rock these lace-up heels. The lace-up back of the dress really matched the sandals perfectly. The beautiful, white flower bouquet was designed by bespoke floral designer Maggie Bailey. Glamour magazine pointed out, “Owens matched her elegant aesthetic in a beige suit with a white shirt, checkered belt, and white loafers”.

The couple had a second wedding on May 6th in Cabo San Lucas in front of 140 guests. According to People Magazine, the wedding party consisted of 8 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen, and the couple exchanged handwritten vows. Simone wore four different wedding gowns, each designed by Galia Lahav. The groom wore a pair of Nike Air Force 1’s bedazzled with pearls and gold stones.

The couple started dating during the height of COVID-19 during mid-2020. Their love for bulldogs seemed to help with the union, Jonathan with one, and Simone having two. Their first date was apparently a “lake house trip” after Jonathan used his sibling’s phone to ask her to join him. Prior to their first date, the couple “met” on social network app, Raya. The couple announced their relationship via an Instagram Post, stating “it’s just us 🤎”.

According to Today, Simone shared, “We’re with each other 24/7, so I feel like now when we’re not with each other it’s almost weird,” she explained. “We’re always texting or calling each other. It’s kind of gross in a way.”
