The Proposal

Rebel Wilson and her partner, Ramona Agruma, are engaged! Rebel announced the news in her Instagram post on Sunday, 2/19/23. The 42-year-old Australian actress is known for her roles in Pitch Perfect, Bridesmaids, and Senior Year, among others. And, who is Ramona? Scroll down for more info.

This proposal has got to be one of the most magical celebrity engagements I’ve seen recently. I couldn’t be happier for one of my favorite actors. The picture on Instagram is in front of the iconic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty Castle. Ramona is showing off her engagement ring from Tiffany & Co. The two are wearing matching adorable pink and white striped sweaters from LOFT and are surrounded by pink roses literally falling from the sky. Someone must love pink! See this cute video from People on the engagement. Can it be more perfect? Yes, violinists were playing Disney classics.

Quoting verbatim from People’s article, she shared, “she was “shocked” at “how deep the connection was and how instant it was” when she met Agruma, as she had thought up until that point that she “was really looking for a husband” — to the point where she “[dated] about 50 guys in one year to try to catch up on the dating experience.”

I wonder if the Disneyland setting was chosen because of the statement Rebel made in June of 2022 announcing her relationship with Ramona on InstaGram, “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince … but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess #loveislove”. Seems fitting to propose to her Princess in front of one of the most famous fairy tale castles, and so romantic! Maybe we will see a wedding there, too. Can’t wait to see those photos, no matter where the venue is!

….and the haters are gonna hate. Between the relationship and engagement announcement posts, there were numerous negative comments. I understand Instagram is a public platform for all to share whatever they want. However, why emphatically, state your disapproval in response to such a positive, joyful post? I presume they wanted their voice to be heard. Well, that worked, this post is proof. IDK, perhaps they were OK with getting adamantly shut down. Perhaps they were oblivious the first announcement was during PRIDE Month. I could go on and on. Being a person who is wedding-crazed and blogs all about it, I’m pretty one-sided on this subject. #loveislove.

The response to a commenter’s confusion on why “all these girls are coming out?” was put perfectly by veeology, “Well, this is Pride Month, a celebration of the fact that we are living in a time to be proud of being who you truly are. For some in the LGBT community who are not yet out, it feels like a safe place and time to express themselves without judgment, and that may be why you may be seeing an increase”. I love how it was answered in such an eloquent, non-judging demeanor. While it would give me satisfaction to call out the haters, I purposefully got direct permission from veeology to post her words. My reply to this dumbass question would have been just STFU (clearly judging), but commenting has been turned off. The vast majority of comments were supportive, and so many were worth sharing.

It’s unfortunate still in today’s society, one gets backlash for their sexual orientation. Rebel, herself, was pressured to announce her love interest before a Sydney Morning Herald writer threatened to publish a story on her relationship. According to GAYTIMES, Rebel stated in an interview with The Australian, “Basically, with the situation, where a journalist is threatening to out you, you’ve got to hurry, and some people we didn’t get a chance to tell before it came out publicly. And that’s not ideal,” she explained. “There are levels to telling people. You tell your close and your friends and not everybody. Across our two families, not everybody is as accepting as what you’d hope for, and we were trying to be respectful to those people and tell them in our way.” At least Rebel was able to limit the comments, or maybe Instagram did that all by themselves, which I highly doubt. The Ring

What do we know about the ring? Rebel noted in your Instagram post, “Thank you @tiffanyandco for the stunning ring 💍”. According to diamond expert Maxwell Stone, “Ramona’s sparkler is the Tiffany Setting Engagement Ring—a true masterpiece, the design is the world’s most iconic engagement ring. The ring features a 2.55-carat round brilliant cut diamond, in a six-prong setting. Flawlessly engineered, the six-prong setting virtually disappears and allows the diamond to float above the platinum band”.

A ring from Tiffany was likely chosen because of a gift, maybe? Rebel told PEOPLE magazine, “Our friend Hugh, who set us up, gave us Tiffany heart charms on our first-ever date in Los Angeles in late 2021. So it’s amazing to celebrate our engagement with a gorgeous Tiffany’s ring.”

Who is Ramona?

Who is Ramona Arguma? She was born in Latvia and grew up in the fashion industry with her parents owning high-end designer fashion stores. At a young age, she was attending European fashion weeks in Paris and Milan. No wonder why she became successful in the celeb-catered fashion industry. Notably, she speaks five languages, loves animals, and the beach. Similar to myself, less the four languages and jaw dropping beauty. She is “appreciative of honesty, class, and a great sense of style”, according to Times Monaco.

She is the founder of the luxury leisurewear clothing line, Lemon Ve Limon. According to the website, “Lemon Ve Limon is a Los Angeles-based sustainable clothing brand designed to take you places in comfort and style”. I’m not about to upgrade my sweats (as suggested) at $229.00 a hoodie. The line is clearly catered to a different tax bracket than mine. Interestingly enough, Rebel dabbled in the clothing industry launching a plus-size, Fat-Madi T-Shirt Line, as well as a full clothing line, Rebel Wilson X Angels. Her current fashion line, R & R Club, was created with Ramona, hence both “R’s”, and is very similar to the Lemon Ve Limon apparel (although only offering one style of hoodie and sweatpants, and at $179.00). Quoting from the company’s website, they’re “all about royally relaxing”, and “made with the finest French Terry and are sustainably manufactured with love in Turkey using environmentally friendly dyes”. So fitting how the description they use for the color is “Snow White” (another reason to predict a Disney wedding).

After browsing many posts, pictures, and articles, it does not surprise me she is inspired by designers Armani, Dior, and Ralph Lauren.
