Seems to me there are two kinds of New Year’s people: the ones that get dressed up and go to a party and the ones that make it a point to go to bed early and let everyone know that. Well, I’m definitely the latter. However, not at New Year’s Eve Weddings! We all are celebrating! What a way to bring in the new year – with family and friends and your love.
10 Reasons to Get Married on New Year’s Eve:
1. You will have the best anniversary. You can choose every year if you want to entertain, go to a party, treat yourselves to a night away, or stay in. I know these are options for any anniversary day of the year, but 12/31 opens up a lot of options.
2. You have New Year’s Day off from work (most of us). After celebrating each year, you can unwind the next day or get a late checkout.
3. Guests are eager to celebrate.
4. Your reception will be rocking until the end. Not many early escapees. Guests will be jubilant and not to mention the dancing….oh, the dancing.
5. Instead of counting down till the ball drops, the countdown can be for your bouquet toss at midnight. Since it is a rather outdated traditional, you can put a comical twist on it. Play 80’s music, lower a disco ball, and toss the most tacky silk flower/ribbon bouquet you can put together (a fun thing to do at your shower). Alternatively, it can be a final toast to end a beautiful evening…done at 6pm. No countdown necessary.

6. The venue will still be beautifully decorated for the holidays.
7. Winter/snow themed weddings are so much fun to plan (snowflakes, Irish coffee, white lights…I could go on and on).
8. The date is off season. Not only that, the next two NYE’s (2019 & 2020) are on a weekday. This means SERIOUS savings.
9. More of a reason to get glittery and sparkly. Simple gowns are in. So if you are not as simple as today’s vision, here is the perfect reason to go outside the box. Go little or big…or somewhere in between.

10. Balloons. Seriously, what other time of year could this fly (no pun intended)? A fraction of the typical decor/ambiance cost. Gold, silver & white never looked so nice together (and a splash of your wedding color). Just have a look.
11. Champagne. Oops, I went past 10 reasons. Cannot forget this. For the cocktail hour, offer champagne. Just before midnight, have glasses butler served. Also, sparkling wine is just fine (I’m on a role). Negotiate this with your wedding sales manager – pay only by the bottle.

You can go over the top with decor. I love this centerpiece found on Pinterest. This really would only look appropriate (for my taste) on NYE.
