Picture Frames: Seating Assignments and Favors

To save money and make the seating assignments interesting, why not combine the favor with that. A simple example is putting “Mr. & Mrs. Smith’s” table assignment in a picture frame. Cost wise, the frames are great because you only need one per couple. 100 RSVP’s, 50 frames! However, since this frame will be the keepsake of your special day, it absolutely must be a nice one. Like, not a dollar store one. Nice does not necessarily mean expensive. Although, even on Amazon, 50 decent quality frames will cost at least $300.

Being a yard sale queen, I would scope out local yards sales every weekend.  Secondhand stores are also great – Goodwill, Salvation Army, Savers, thrift stores, etc. Stick with similar frame types. Perhaps all white wooden frames all different sizes, but all unique.  This idea is great to incorporate your theme.  If you are having a fall wedding, the frames could all have leaves on them or you can glue some on.  For a beach wedding, you could have starfish, shell, and any nautical type frame.

If you purchase them new, the best time to shop for some seasonal themed stuff is mid-season when leftover items get marked down or at the end of season for 75% off.  Christmas Tree Shops is perfect for this!  I’ve also found that pharmacy chains like Rite Aid and Walgreens have good seasonal clearance sales.  If you order online in bulk, you can just get a few different kinds.

They are dirt cheap secondhand – like a buck, more or less. Plus, it adds some excitement to pass some hole in the wall thrift store unexpectedly, do a u-turn and run in to see if they have the perfect white wooden frame.  Just don’t get them all the same. Adding different types and sizes adds character and charm.  All for about $40 to $60. To save time, you can actually get whatever picture frame variety you want and spray paint them all one color….maybe your wedding color!

How to Paint Wood Picture Frames | Hunker

Those old wood frames looked great when you first got them, but over time, they became worn and dated. Where they used to complement your color scheme, now they stick out like a sore thumb. Rather than tossing them out, invest a little time and repaint them.

Another great idea to do with larger frames is take out all the inside stuff (matting, glass, etc.) and use them in a DIY photo booth. Different shapes would be so cool and unique! Check out my DIY Photo Booth Ideas Pinterest board for inspiration.

Ok, maybe not quite this dramatic, but you get the picture.
