Bride, Anna, shares her day below…
Had the best day of my life on 12th June. I literally would not have changed a thing. ❤️
We decided early on to keep things simple. We had only 16 guests. We paid for the important things (to me) location and photography and kept it simple with the others.
The day before our wedding my in laws were in a car crash that wrote off their car. Luckily they came away unscathed but it really hit home the importance of what really matters… Do not sweat the small stuff. Honestly, it does not matter at all on the day.
We were married on the edge of Lake Windemere and had our day on the pebble beach. The weather was amazing and we moved some of the benches out into the lake so we could sit with our feet in the lake.
We had wood fired pizzas in the day and catered the evening ourselves (wine and cheese boards) we made the wedding arch , favours etc ourselves and had wonderful friends being a part of our day, one made the cake and one was our celebrant which was just so special.
My tips for what it’s worth 😅
The reason you are doing this is love. Do not invite anyone to your wedding that you or your husband do not love. Trust me you will not care they are there on the day and you are just paying for them to have a nice day out.
Have a talk with yourself on the morning of your wedding to remind yourself to stop and take in the details. The day flies by and it will be a blur. I really made an effort to notice the little things and appreciate it. You’ve spend so long planning the details not to forget about them!
Get to know your photographer and make sure you click. They are your new best mate. They’ll see you laugh, cry and most likely your butt on more than one occasion. You will spend more time with them than your husband on your wedding day. I honestly felt like I’ve found a new best friend in mine and literally could not have done without her on the day. I could not recommend her enough for those based around the Lakes.
