I just love this idea of incorporating books into weddings. Unique, personal, memorable.
Book Titles as Table Names
Create table names for your guests to find their table rather than table numbers. Pick some favorites or use some famous romance ones listed below. An added touch would be to have a copy of the book displayed at the table. Hardcover would be ideal, but an old paperback would work. Other ideas for this can be different authors, different genres, fictional character names and/or places.
Romance Table Name Ideas:
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
A Midsummer’s Night Dream by William Shakespeare
A Room With a View by E.M. Forster
The Emerald Peacock by Katharine Gordon
A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel
The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller
The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
Books as a Decorative Centerpiece
Wrap some books up in kraft paper and tie with twine or displaying as-is works, too. Add a small vase with a rose or some baby’s breath. Drape a string of pearls over the books and around the vase and there you have it. Romantic. Simple. Elegant.
Chapter Numbers as Table Numbers
Heart or Flower Folded Pages
A unique way to display a book as a centerpiece: create a heart or flowers with pages. See this DIY tutorial on how to do the more intricate ones below.
A Book for Every Guest – My Favorite Idea
Gather enough books for one per guest. These can be bought in bulk at thrift and secondhand stores. What I love about this idea is that it can be as creative and detailed as desired. This would make shopping for them fun! I would have table names to go with the types of books I’ve gathered. Display some sort of sign that lets guests know they can each take home a book. This will surely spark some interesting discussion at each table on who is bringing what book home.
